Aaron Morris and Danny Hylton are in line to make their first AFC Wimbledon starts against Hartlepool United tonight.

Former Aldershot Town defender Morris joined the Dons earlier this month but has only made two substitute appearances so far.

Andy Frampton’s shoulder injury, sustained at Scunthorpe United, has opened up a space in the Wimbledon defence though and Morris is set to fill the void.

Alan Bennett, Will Antwi and Darren Jones started Saturday’s 2-1 win over Exeter City, however Bennett could be rested tonight as the Dons play three games in a week.

Jim Fenlon’s return from suspension, served following his dismissal at Wycombe Wanderers, is timely given Callum Kennedy is likely to miss out with an ankle problem.

Hylton, signed last on loan from Rotherham United last night, goes straight into the squad and could replace Charlie Wyke.

Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley said: “We had Jim Fenlon suspended but he’s back available. Callum Kennedy rolled his ankle so he’s taken an injury there. His ankle is sore.

“Jim has worked hard in the few days he’s been out and hopefully he will be able to come in and slot back in.

Middlesbrough v Aldershot Town - FA Cup Fourth Round
Set for debut: Danny Hylton

“Aaron Morris is starting to look sharp, and I want to look after him, but we’ve got three games in a week now so he might come in on Tuesday.

“I’ll consider making one or two changes. If you don’t, I don’t think you’re going to get through the week.

“People like Alan Bennett, they’re not spring chickens anymore, so you’ve got to be careful and you don’t want to risk injuries.

“Charlie Wyke was ill earlier in the week and ran himself into the ground [on Saturday] so I’m not sure if he’s got another 90 minutes of that intensity.

“If you look after them on Tuesday then you get the performances again on the Saturday.”

The Dons picked up their first home victory since September on Saturday and Ardley is looking to make Kingsmeadow a fortress again, starting with another three points this evening when the Monkey Hangers roll into town.

Ardley added: “We talked about it and how we impose ourselves at home. Last season we had a really good home record but we were playing a certain way - percentage footbal where you’re trying to pen teams in - but when you try and play [flowing] football sometimes you get caught between two stools.”

A trip to Oxford on Saturday follows tonight’s visit of Hartlepool for Ardley and his men.
