ROBERTO Di Matteo has revealed the injury problems he is sweating on ahead of Chelsea's Champions League final date with Bayern Munich.

Blues again fielded a makeshift side in yesterday's final league match of the season at home to Blackburn, but their interim boss said he was happy about how the team came through.

“We wanted to win this game and try and get through it without any injuries,” he said. “And I think more or less we achieved both, apart from (Florent) Malouda who has a little problem with his hamstring.”

The Frenchman was withdrawn in this first half, as Di Matteo explained. “We took him off precautionary, with a little problem on his hamstring. He's got a tight hamstring, so we'll assess him over the next day or two. But hopefully he will recover as soon as possible.”

But Chelsea's biggest problem for Saturday remains their central defence, with John Terry and Branislav Ivanovic both suspended, and David Luiz and Gary Cahill battling for fitness.

Di Matteo said of his two injured defenders: “Obviously they are getting better day by day. We're going to try and push them, obviously from tomorrow – all next week to try.”

Asked if that meant a match-day fitness test, he said: “Probably yes. We're going to try and push them this week in training and see how far we can take them. Despite that everyone will come to Munich anyway – the whole squad.”
