Striker Dexter Blackstock is close to signing a new long-term contract at QPR.

Blackstock was recently offered a new three-and-a-half-year deal by the club and an agreement has now almost been reached.

Further talks are set to take place on Thursday and Blackstock could put pen to paper by the time Rangers face Coventry this weekend, when Wayne Routledge is expected to make his debut following his recent £500,000 move from Aston Villa.

Rangers are also still hoping to sign Crystal Palace midfielder Ben Watson, who has been closely watched by several Premier League clubs and is waiting to see if one makes a firm move to sign him.

But one player who could be on his way out of Loftus Road is Mikele Leigertwood. A number of clubs have been keeping tabs on him in recent weeks and Rangers will tell them they are willing to sell Leigertwood for £1million.
