Dean Smith revealed that Lasse Vibe had felt his hamstring in the first half of Brentford's 3-1 win over Fulham.

The Bees were forced to play Romaine Sawyers as a false nine and he made up for it by scoring.

Smith also revealed that Justin Shaibu had been ruled out with a hamstring injury, which led to him not having a striker on the bench.

He said: “Lasse Vibe felt his hamstring. Neal Maupay had a tough session with me this morning.

“We were struggling as Justin Shaibu had a tight hamstring as well. They looked like that they had a false nine so we had one. He scored a well worked goal and got an assist as well.”

Sergi Canos celebrates his goal

Sergi Canos was also forced off towards the end but the Bees head coach revealed that it was just cramp.

He added: “The message I got was he'd had cramp and was shattered.”

Lewis Macleod was introduced after being out of action for 13 months with an anterior cruciate ligament and he was pleased that he had returned to fitness.

Smith said: “I was pleased with his minutes. He looks fitter and fitter and I was pleased he came back.”
