Dean Smith paid tribute to the travelling Brentford fans after his side rewarded their loyalty with a fine 2-0 win at Birmingham.
The Bees had to grind out the result but found their way to all three points thanks to Ollie Watkins' penalty and Neal Maupay's fine finish.
The supporters, though, cheered their side from the first minute to last and were rewarded at the final whistle and Smith was delighted for them.
He said: “The fans were superb. They were very jovial and some funny lyric making. I'm really pleased with the backing they've given us.”
The result means that Brentford have now gone eight games unbeaten and Smith feels the performance levels have been excellent.
He added: “We were playing better football and not winning. We're pleased with the performance levels of the players.
“We've gone 1-0 up and John Egan makes a massive header. The group are really together. There are no Billy big times in there.”
Maupay may have taken the plaudits but Lasse Vibe deserved praise as well for the way he ran the home side ragged for over an hour.
Smith said: “He deserves the credit as well. He got in behind them a few times. Neal gives us a different option. He uses his body really well against centre halves. He's got really good feet.”
