Dean Smith wants to give Brentford fans the complete set of west London bragging rights by following up the win over QPR with three points against Fulham.

By quirk of fate, the fixture list means the Bees face their west London rivals in successive weeks during the season.

And Smith knows how important this derby is for the supporters and be around the top six going into the international break.

He said: “I know they've had a good week with fellow QPR workmates and if we can do the same again and give them that with their Fulham workmates it'd be fantastic. We'll go out and give it our best shot. We know it's a tough game.

“We don't get any more points. It's something we're looking forward to. I was involved in both the games last year.

“We've got a decent record over them. It's something I'll be reminding the players about as some teams can become a bogey team to another.”

Brentford have beaten their west London rivals in three of their four league meetings since 2014 and drew the other at Craven Cottage last year.

But Smith knows, after watching them put five past Huddersfield, that Slavisa Jokanovic's side will pose a stern test.

He added: “We beat them in the last home game 3-0. Their possession football was evident then. They have a lot of the ball.

“They don't attack as quickly but they're patient on it. Sone Aluko was excellent. Chris Martin scored twice on Saturday and Tom Cairney was excellent as well.

“It's a different test as they have different players. We've got new players who haven't been involved before as well.”
