Newly-formed AFC Ashford played their first-ever game on Saturday and ended up playing out a 12-goal thriller with UPS.

Glenn Alboni opened the scoring direct from a corner,and Simon Brooks hit another,while Ricky Bowles and Simon Brooks both bagged braces as the game finished 6-6.

Meanwhile braces from Scott Harris on Saturday and Byron Harrison on Tuesday night gave Ashford Town (Middx) the best possible start to their Ryman Premier season.

Harris' double earned the Tangerines a 2-1 win at Hastings, while Harrison's strikes gave them a home win over Wealdstone by the same scoreline.

Dave Sargent spot kick handed Staines Town a winning start in the Ryman Premier on Saturday too with a 1-0 victory over Billiericay.

Ashford are at home to league new-boys Tooting & Mitcham on Saturday and visit Hendon on Monday, while Staines have a tough trip to Tonbridge Angels on Saturday before hosting Harrow Borough on Monday.
