Dan Bentley has been working on improving his form after going through a difficult period between the sticks in recent weeks.

The Brentford stopper has made a few mistakes that have led to goals and there was talk of giving Luke Daniels a run in the side.

However, Bentley has returned to his best form in the last three games and he puts it down to his mental strength.

He said: “I've made mistakes before. Mistakes in big games and mistakes that cost points and mistakes that haven't had an effect on the game. I've come through it.

“I pride myself on being strong enough mentally to cope with it. I pride myself on it and work on away from football.

“It's no different, whether it be a misjudgement, a technical error, whatever it may be. I back myself to come back from it.

“I'm going to make mistakes but I pride myself on being solid and reliable. A couple of mistakes doesn't make you a bad goalkeeper.

“A goalkeeper's mistakes are more highlighted than if a striker misses four chances.

“It happens but I'll take the rough with the smooth and continue working hard and continue doing the things I know what is right and make me a good goalkeeper.”
