QPR will complete the £850,000 transfer of Lee Cook from Fulham in January despite misgivings over the winger's form.

The fans' favourite has been missing for the last two games with a leg injury and failed to score in any of his 19 appearances before that.

But such is the esteem in which Cook is held, manager Paulo Sousa is happy to sanction the move back from their neighbours - and pocket around £1.5m profit in the process.

Rangers sold the 26-year-old to Fulham in July 2007 for £2.2m when the Hoops were desperate for cash.

However, he aggravated a knee injury in a pre-season game for his new club, ironically against QPR - and never made a first-team appearance for the Whites.

By his own high standards, Cook's rarely shown glimpses of the form that saw Fulham willing to part with the cash in the first place.

Nevertheless, Sousa is convinced the winger has a part to play in Rs promotion push and has activated a clause that allows Cook to join them permanently on a new three-year deal.

But Rangers will only move for Crystal Palace midfielder Ben Watson if the £1m switch of on-loan keeper Lee Camp to Nottingham Forest goes ahead.

Rangers are worried they will be gazumped by a Premiership club for the

Palace player they coveted in the summer, despite Watson's private insistence on swapping south for west London.

The Palace star is in the last year of his contract at Selhurst Park, and despite chants from the Rangers faithful during the 0-0 draw between QPR and Palace on Saturday encouraging the deal, Loftus Road insiders insist they won't be held to ransom.

A source said: "We're pricing Lee Camp at £1m, and we'll get a cheaper replacement with some of the money. But if Palace want megabucks for Watson, then we'll use the balance of the Camp money to look elsewhere." ..SUPL:
