Chelsea boss Antonio Conte doesn’t expect a Tottenham backlash following their exit from the Champions League in midweek.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side went crashing out of Europe’s elite club competition with a defeat to Monaco in France after an indifferent campaign.

But the Italian has claimed “every game is different” and pointed to how Tottenham bounced back from their Champions League defeat with Bayer Leverkusen with a good point at Arsenal several weeks ago.

“I think every game is different after the defeat against Bayer Leverkusen, Tottenham played a very good game against Arsenal so for this reason I know we have a tough game against a strong team.

"This is a special derby for both teams and for this reason a great game.”

“The game is very tough and Tottenham can be very difficult"

Conte also claims that their opponents on Saturday evening will be in the title hunt until the season’s climax and said his players must remain focused.

“Last season they fight until the end and they have a great manager, talented players, a very young squad and I think they are improving. For this reason, we have to pay great attention tomorrow and I’m pushing my players to be focused.

“The game is very tough and Tottenham can be very difficult and for me can fight until the end for the title.”

Despite being unbeaten this term, Pochettino’s side find themselves outside the top four and four points off of leaders Chelsea after a run of one win in five games.

Chelsea will look to continue their current momentum and make it seven wins on the bounce since their last reverse against Arsenal in September.
