IAIN DOWIE can expect a fiery reception when he returns to Coventry on Saturday for the first time since he quit the Sky Blues in February.

The warning comes from the present incumbent at The Ricoh Arena - but Chris Coleman reckons it will be water off a duck's back to the QPR boss "There's going to be added spice because Iain's the ex manager - but we're both above all that nonsense," Coleman said.

The City manager will now be able to shake his mate's hand straight after the game after avoiding a touchline ban.

The FA had charged him with 'improper conduct' after he berated officials in the 3-0 home defeat to Bristol City in August.

Instead, they lightened his wallet by £5,000 and warned him about his futue conduct.

It's all part of the pressure of being a Championship manager in a tough league, according to the man universally known and loved as Cookie.

It's also the same man who cut his managerial teeth at Loftus Road with Fulham as tenants. Coleman was back to watch Sunday's Hoops' win over Southampton.

He said: "There's pressure on all of us. It may be different for me than it is for Iain - but we've all got it. "For Iain, QPR have to be up there because of their new owners - and whether they've spent enough remains to be seen.

"We at Coventry are looking for a top half finish - but QPR are looking for more simply because of the chairman and the people who own the club. There's pressure on him to finish higher, and making the top six won't be easy because he's only just arrived in the job."

* FITZ HALL will not be risked against Coventry despite recovering from a groin injury.

The QPR defender has not played since the 3-0 defeat at Sheffield United on August 16. "It's a game too soon for Fitz," said boss Iain Dowie.
