Brentford have made an improved contract offer to star striker Clayton Donaldson.
The former Crewe frontman has smashed 53 goals in 155 games since his switch from Gresty Road in 2011.
However, Donaldson, who netted 18 times as the Bees secured promotion to the Championship this season, will be able to leave for nothing when his current deal expires next month.
The 30-year-old is keen to remain at Griffin Park next campaign and the club re-opened talks over a new contract last month.
And the Bradford-born hitman, who is away on the squad's end-of-year promotion party in Las Vegas, has now been offered fresh terms that would keep him in west London for at least another 12 months.
Donaldson attracted the interest of Wolves and Millwall last summer, while the Bees also rejected a cheeky £250k bid from Turkish side Trabzonspor in 2013.
