CHELSEA have signed former Fulham keeper Mark Schwarzer on a free transfer.
The Blues have been in the market for back-up to number one Petr Cech after Ross Turnbull was released last month and highly-rated Belgian keeper Thibaut Courtois was loaned to Atletico Madrid for another season.
Chelsea failed to land Norwich City shot-stopper John Ruddy after having two bids rejected.
However, they have now swooped to sign veteran Aussie Schwarzer after his contract at Craven Cottage expired.
The 40-year-old failed to agree fresh terms with the Whites, and has now made the short move to west London neighbours Chelsea after penning a 12-month deal.
