CHELSEA'S dismal run of form continued as they slumped to defeat in Marseille.

Brandao's late goal proved the difference between the sides to heap more pressure on under-fire manager Carlo Ancelotti .

The Blues boss fielded a strong side for the Group F dead rubber, but it was the hosts who dominated the opening 45 minutes.

They were unlucky not to go in 1-0 up at the break as Mathieu Valbuena's effort crashed off the crossbar, while Gabriel Heinze had a header disallowed.

But their pressure eventually paid off nine minutes from time when Brandao scored from close range after Taye Taiwo's shot was deflected into his path.
