LFA INTERMEDIATE CUP WEST LONDON SFC............1 Phoenix...............................2

Colin John-Baptiste has been scouring the whole of the capital in a bid to beef up West London SFC's squad.

Boss Baptiste works for Chelsea's Football in the Community section, and has wasted no time in using his post to tap up the best of the west's talent.

He oversees six projects in four boroughs, and has spotted several youngsters who now strut their stuff in the Sportsman's League.

And he is keen to add even more. He said: "You could say I've got a larger scouting network than other Sunday league clubs, and there should be a few more once they're old enough.

"But the first thing I have to tell them is that they won't be getting a trial for Luiz Felipe Scolari's side, but playing down the park for me on a Sunday instead!"

Baptiste's boys slipped out of the LFA Sunday Intermediate Cup by the odd goal in three to Phoenix on Sunday.

Trailing 2-0, Calvin Thomas hit back to give them hope, but it wasn't enough.

But the defeat doesn't bother Baptiste one bit.

He added: "I don't care about the cups. The league is the Holy Grail."
