It's going to be a great New Year's Eve as Chelsea make it 13 wins on the trot and equal the all-time top-flight record for consecutive victories.

This is what we thought of Blues individual performances.

Thibaut Courtois 6/10

Something of a nervous afternoon for Courtois who could do little with either of the goals, made virtually no other saves, but was kept under some pressure by Stoke’s aerial threat.

Cesar Azpilicueta 6/10

Not his best game as the usually impregnable rear-guard were troubled by the willingness of Mark Hughes’ side to pose a threat.

Finders, keepers: Thibaut Courtois

David Luiz 7/10

Again, Luiz looked the pick of Chelsea’s defenders, bringing the ball out from defence with great confidence and countering the aerial threat with his own headed prowess.

Gary Cahill 6/10

Scored one and might have had another at the attacking end, but given all the trouble he wanted by Peter Crouch at the other

Victor Moses 6/10

Struggled to get forward in the first half as Stoke posed problems, but made the second goal as he carried an increasing influence after the break.

N’Golo Kante 6/10

Solid enough in front of the back four, but the aerial route to Crouch from Stoke sometimes bypassed him.

Hazard warning: Eden on the attack

Cesc Fabregas 9/10 (MOM)

Kept in the XI by Conte, Fabregas was the prompter-in-chief. He looked like he had the ball on a string as he threaded through ball after ball to the front three. He might not be a regular in what at the moment is an all-conquering team, but on this evidence Chelsea should keep him at The Bridge

Marcus Alonso 6/10

In and out of the action and picked up a yellow for a spat with Diouf.

Willian 9/10

The Brazillian winger can count himself unlucky not to be man of the match, but was just shaded by Fabregas. Nevertheless, he contributed more than his two goals with his pace a constant menace, especially on the counter-attack.

Diego Costa 8/10

He missed a sitter, but atoned for that with the clincher late on. He is much more than his goals – a brute of a target-man with style to add.

Heads up: Diego Costa and Ryan Shawcross leap

Eden Hazard 7/10

Not at his best, but the Belgium’s touch into Willian’s path for the assist for the second goal was exquisite and a day when Chelsea score four and Hazard isn’t in the top three performers can never be a bad thing.

Subs

Matic (for Fabregas) 6/10

Provided a steadying influence as Chelsea saw the game out.

Ivanovic (for Moses 82) and Chalobah (for Willian 84) – not long enough for a rating.
