Roman Abramovich could spend his summer holidays anywhere in the world but Chelsea’s billionaire owner has decided to take a vacation in Scotland.

The Russian tycoon has shunned the allure of the Caribbean Sea to take a tour of the Scottish Isles and has been spotted whizzing about on his bike and relaxing on his superyacht.

Eclipse is the world’s second largest superyacht and it boasts two helicopter pads, two swimming pools and several hot tubs.

The stunning vessel also features three launch boats and a mini-submarine that is able to submerge to 50 metres.

One onlooker said: “We’re no stranger to seeing big boats down here, but this is something special. Locals are speculating whether Abramovich is here to buy Greenock Morton.

“Let’s face it, he could probably buy the town of Greenock with his spare change.”

Abramovich’s tour hasn’t been without incident and the Blues chief had to send help to a man who had fallen from a swing while trying to snap a selfie with his £1.5billion superyacht.

Abramovich, 48, noticed the man was in agony and sent two crew members to help him.

They gave him oxygen, applied a neck brace and refused to leave his side for more than 30 minutes until an ambulance arrived.

The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed the incident on Sunday night and said their crew transferred the patient to the hospital on the island of Arran.
