Chelsea new boy N’Golo Kante has not changed his style of play during his entire career, according to former team-mate Maxime Colin.

The Frenchman completed a move to Stamford Bridge from Premier League champions Leicester last Saturday for £32 million.

Kante started his career with French side Boulogne and was coming through the ranks with Colin, who now plays at Championship side Brentford, already established in the first team.

Since then, Kante shone over the course of the season, with fans singing his praises.

Colin said: “We played together for Boulogne for two or three months. He was in the second team. He wasn’t playing and I was. It’s wonderful to see. He’s a good guy.

“He’s a great example of humility. Football can be really quick. He signed for Leicester without knowing what will happen.

“One year later, a lot of things have happened for him. I will see him at Chelsea a bit. I saw a lot of the internet memes. I saw he ran a lot in games; it’s really crazy.”

The strongest aspect of Kante’s game is the fact he can remain so consistent during the course of the season, without any fuss.

Colin added: “It’s crazy. He can repeat the same game in the Champions League and in the second division.

“He is always the same and we never knew where he can stop. He played in the third division, the first division and he played the same.

“When he moved to England we thought he might have been too little. He’s shown everyone what he can do. He doesn’t make noise in the dressing room.

"He’s not one who talks a lot. He’ll not do one thing during one game; it’s during the whole season where he shows himself. Everyone knows him, but he was already good.”
