Chelsea keeper to continue loan spell

CHELSEA keeper Thibaut Courtois will spend a second season on loan at Europa League champions Atletico Madrid.

CHELSEA keeper Thibaut Courtois will spend a second season on loan at Europa League champions Atletico Madrid.

The Belgian international had a successful spell at the Vicente Calderon last season, making more than 50 appearances.

And the Spanish club have confirmed the former Racing Genk shotstopper will remain in the capital for another season.

"Thibaut Courtois will next season play at Atletico Madrid after Atletico on Wednesday reached an agreement with Chelsea on transfer for a year," a statement on Atleico's official website read.

"The Belgian international goalkeeper played all of last season on loan playing in in 37 games in La Liga and 15 in the UEFA Europa League - a competition won in Bucharest on May 9."
