ANDRE Villas-Boas has confessed for the first time that there are problems in the Chelsea dressing room – caused by their poor league position.

In a heated Cobham press conference, the Chelsea boss denied that there was any specific problem with Frank Lampard – who last week said his relationship with the manager wa 'not ideal'.

Villas-Boas said: “Frank explained his personal view of his relationship with the manager. He feels something is missing, but I don't. For me there is nothing missing.”

However when pressed on issues within the dressing room, the Portuguese coach said: “There are problems when Chelsea are fifth, for sure. I don't see any problems in my relationships with the players.

“Ask any player who doesn't play every time if he has a good relationship with the manager. I think it's an unhappy dressing room because we are fifth.

"I think if we're first in the league with 17 points ahead, it would be an extremely happy dressing room, any problems would be put to one side.”
