CHELSEA have rubbished reports linking star defender David Luiz with a move away from Stamford Bridge.

The Brazilian centre-back was part of the side to win the first Champions League in the club's 107-year history this week.

However, Barcelona are reported to be lining up a £35million bid to try and lure the 24-year-old, who joined the Blues from Benfica in 2011, to the Catalans.

But Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay insists Luiz is staying in SW6.

He said: “The value of David Luiz was there for everyone to see on Saturday night.

“Of course, we'll keep him. We're the champions of Europe. We shouldn't have any problem keeping hold of our players.

“I'd be disappointed if our players weren't attractive to other clubs. That just shows where we are. People are interested in David Luiz because he's done fantastically well.”
