Jose Mourinho has lauded the 'beautiful' football that gave his Chelsea a straightforward win over a completely unthreatening West Bromwich Albion.

Blues were 2-0 and cruising when Baggies were reduced to ten men by the red card shown to Claudio Yacob killed the game.

But Mourinho says up to that point, Chelsea were playing fantasy football.

Skipper: Chelsea's John Terry leads the team out

"It was beautiful, the quality of our football was of the highest class, another dimension, so fast, so fluid - we made the pitch very, very wide, we created spaces to play inside,” he said.

“We scored two goals, we should have scored much more than that, it was fantastic.

"In the second half, obviously, it was different. We decreased the intensity and made it a bit easier for them to occupy the spaces, but I have to say, that they did very well.

"At that time they knew they could not get points. So they made a decision to be very well organised defensively, there were compact with two lines, and they got a result they think will give them stability and confidence.”

The result took Chelsea seven points clear at the top of the Premier League, with second placed Southampton due to play on Monday night.
