CHELSEA can do without John Terry – reckons their boss.
The Blues travel to Napoli today ahead of tomorrow’s vital Champions League clash with Napoli, and although their captain is aboard for the trip, Andre Villas-Boas insists his team can win without Terry (pic) on the night.
“There are enough characters to lead on the emotional sense,” he said. “Of course JT is a great leader and gives you an extra emotional push. But at the moment, we've had to do without him.
“If he misses out on Tuesday, then we will miss a top player who gives us great defensive stability. It would be a massive loss for us, and I will leave it as late as possible and make a decision on him after training in Naples.
“But I think there is still enough emotion (in the team) without him.”
Like Chelsea, Napoli lie outside the Champions League qualifying slots in Serie A. But on Friday they put in a storming performance to win 3-0 at Fiorentina.
Villas-Boas said: “If you go past Napoli then you can have a really good chance, depending on who you get in the draw.
"But I think we are in with a really good chance. It will be a massive challenge. Everyone saw what Napoli did in a group which put another English team out (Manchester City).”
