Chelsea Ladies have had a bid for England striker Fran Kirby accepted by Reading Ladies.

The 22-year-old, who scored England's first goal at the Women's World Cup in a 2-1 win over Mexico, and helped the Lionesses go on to finish third, is now free to speak to the Women's Super League One leaders.

Kirby was the top goalscorer in WSL 2 last season, netting 24 times, and has scored 11 goals in five league appearances for Reading so far in 2015.

The transfer deadline for WSL teams falls on Thursday, and Kirby, who was dubbed 'mini-Messi' by England coach Mark Sampson during the World Cuphas attracted interest from Manchester City and Arsenal, as well as Chelsea.
