We agree - it’s a tough start but if Fulham manage to win them it’s a real statement of intent from the team.

Dean Smith couldn't care less who they face opening day

The Brentford boss is a character alright, and when our Brentford reporter Tom Moore asked him who wanted on the opening day he said he couldn’t care less!

That’s fair enough, everyone does play everyone else twice after all.

Here’s exactly what he said.

Who do Fulham fans want?

Let’s get this party started, shall we?

I asked the Fulham faithful through the week who they fancied playing on the first day on August 5 and boy did I get a load of answers.

QPR and Brentford were on there of course, but so were Reading, who it seems Fulham fans want to extract some revenge on this year.
