Scans have revealed no damage to Deji Oshilaja’s neck after he was stretchered off during AFC Wimbledon’g goalless stalemate with Oxford United.

The on-loan Cardiff City defender landed on his head after going up for an aerial challenge at the start of the second half at Kingsmeadow on Saturday.

Wimbledon are back in action again tonight at Plymouth Argyle and boss Neal Ardley says the centre-back could make a swift return after test results came back all clear.

Ardley told Dons Player: “Deji is a little bit stiff and mentally he has got to feel comfortable enough to play. Scans showed that everything was fine with his neck and his spine.

“However, he has some tenderness in and around the back of his head and neck. Deji is one of those players who is athletic and agile in his style of play.

“If he feels that it will affect him and he cannot do a job for the team in a tough game then he will let us know tomorrow.

“It may be touch and go. Stuart Douglas feels that he can do what we need with no repercussions or danger, but if Deji does not feel that way then we will have to accept it and move on.

Alfie Potter won’t be travelling to Devon with the rest of the squad having tweaked his groin muscle in the warm up against Oxford.

Jack Smith is also struggling with a similar problem but should make the squad for this evening’s match at Home Park.

Plymouth will be boosted by the return of captain Curtis Nelson following a one-match ban.
