With the Carabao Cup first round draw taking place on Friday, we take a look at how QPR have fared in the competition over the last five seasons.

2012-13

First Round: Bye

Second round: QPR 3 Walsall 0

Third Round: QPR 2 Reading 3

A comfortable 3-0 victory over Walsall was quickly turned on it's head with a 3-2 defeat at home to Reading in the third round. QPR twice took the lead, first through Junior Hoilett and then through Djibril Cisse, only for a Pavel Pogrebnyak goal to see the Royals through.

2013-2014

First Round: Exeter 0 QPR 2

Second Round: QPR 0 Swindon 2

After a routine 2-0 victory over Exeter, QPR came unstuck after losing 2-0 against Swindon Town. Goals from Nile Ranger and Alex Pritchard put a premature end to the Hoops' cup run.

2014-2015

First Round: bye

Second Round: Burton Albion 1 QPR 0

QPR received a first round bye after securing promotion to the Premier League, but fell at the first hurdle after a full-strength team lost 1-0 against Burton Albion, who scored in the 77th minute through an Adam McGurk free-kick.

2015-16

First round: Yeovil Town 0 QPR 3

Second round: QPR 1 Carlisle United 2

A similar tale, as QPR cruised through their first round clash against Yeovil Town, before coming unstuck against Carlisle United after substitute Jason Kennedy netted a 79th minute winner after Jay Emmanuel-Thomas cancelled out Derek Asamoah's opener.

2016-2017

First Round: QPR 2 Swindon Town 2

(4-2 penalties)

Second Round: QPR 2 Rochdale 1

Third Round: QPR 1 Sunderland 2

What looked like a promising cup run came to an end as Sandro (yes Sandro)'s opening goal was cancelled out by the rarity that is a Paddy McNair brace.
