OLLIE WATKINS MAKES IT TWO! He has a shot. Stephen Bywater stands still as the ball rolls through a crowd of players and into the net. That’s the first shot on target.
Nico Yennaris on for Kamo Mokotjo. Ryan Woods is showing his class again. He seldom loses the ball. What a player.
Marcondes brought down in the box but not given. Burton hoof forward and Liam Boyce hits the side netting.
GOALLLLL
Brentford have the lead and it’s from an own goal. Watkins free kick is deep to Sawyers. His ball back into the box is met by Watkins. The forward’s cross is turned into his own net by Kyle McFadzean.
It’s still not going Brentford’s way. They are the better side but the final ball is lacking.
Dean Smith needs to take Neal Maupay off before Tony Harrington sends him off. The Frenchman has not had the rub of decisions. He’s been booked for dissent and a late challenge nearly saw a second yellow. One more and he’s off
A rare chance for the hosts as they work the ball down the left again. The ball is squared and Liam Boyce fires over. Brentford counter and the ball to Josh Clarke is just overhit.
Neal Maupay was harshly penalised. He is frustrated and talks himself into the book. Dean Smith isn’t happy.
Jozefzoon fires wide. A Burton player is down and in need of treatment so we’re having a drinks break
Better move from the hosts and only a crucial interception prevents Florian Jozefzoon a clear sight of goal.
Brentford haven’t clicked into gear just yet. You can see what they’re trying to do but they’ve not been able to open up the home side just yet. It’s been a common theme of the west Londoners so far this season. Burton have shown more ambition in the first 20 minutes than they did in 90 at Griffin Park but they are still happy to play on the counter. It’s not been a classic encounter so far.
