Jozefzoon takes a whack - Brentford free kick

Neal Maupay is denied by Frank Fielding and some wonderful defending. His first shot is parried. Maupay heads towards goal and it’s cleared off the line. Bristol City counter and Josh Clarke takes a yellow card.

BRENTFORD TAKE THE LEAD! Neal Maupay has been causing the home defence problems since he came on. Nico Yennaris feeds the Frenchman and the striker’s effort takes a deflection past Fielding. Brentford have deserved that.

Neal Maupay and Nico Yennaris come on for Alan Judge and Josh McEachran. The Frenchman drives forward and tests Fielding with a shot.

Bristol City have a free kick in a dangerous area.

Poor pass from Aden Flint is cut out by McEachran. He feeds Jozefzoon and, with the goalkeeper to beat, he fires over the bar.

It’s another standard display this from Brentford. They have so much of the ball but have not seriously tested Fielding. Sawyers, this time, fires high and wide.

Brentford are continually trying to apply pressure but are unable to stretch the home defence sufficiently nor test Frank Fielding.

Bristol City win their first corner of the afternoon. Defending set pieces has been an issue for Dean Smith’s side in 2018. Bentley appears fouled but it drifts out for a throw in. He is fouled the second time the ball is whipped in.

Break in play due to an injury. Lee Johnson has words with his charges. Brentford fans serenade the substitutes who are warming up.

Josh McEachran goes for goal but it’s easy for Frank Fielding. The home side try to break but Alan Judge gets back to put the tackle in.

Half an hour gone and Brentford have a free kick 25 yards out. McEachran to whip it in.

Brentford have a spell on the ball but can’t get a shot away - the move end when Sawyers drills the ball across goal and out for a throw in.
