Jota El Rey, the greyhound named after the Brentford wing wizard, came second in his second ever race, although he'd trailed by six lengths.

The dog, owned by the Jotainthelastminute syndicate, made a poor start and was trailing but caught up towards the end as Farloe Blade took the victory.

Miss Eastwood rounded off the podium in third pace behind Jota El Rey with Together Forver, Quivers Macchu and Towstar Sasha bringing up the rear.

It's an improvement on Jota El Rey's first race, where he came last, and there is a growing confidence that he will be a greyhound that is strong over the middle distances.

As the greyhound's experience grows the feeling is he will only get even better.

The syndicate, named Jotainthelastminute, only formed in February after the Spaniard scored a hat-trick against Rotherham and the name stems from Jota's last minute goals against west London rivals Fulham.
