Ryan Woods believes Brentford's meeting with Blackburn will be a far cry from the last time the two sides met.

The defeat to Rovers in March was seen as the nadir last season as the Bees failed to break down the 10 men and fell to a late Shane Duffy strike.

But Woods believes things are different now as both sides have a different group of players.

He said: “It's completely different now. The team and players we've got won't know about that game.

“We were unfortunate on that day. We had an extra man for a large period of the game and couldn't put our chances today.

“That's the way it goes. We'll look to make sure that doesn't happen again this time around.”

Woods took the chance to have a break away from the game during the international break, going down to Cornwall.

He added: “It was a good break that we had. We're feeling refreshed and looking forward to Saturday.

“I just went to Cornwall for a couple of days to get away from it all and chilled out to be honest. I think it's good physically and mentally to get away from things for a couple of days and not have to think about football for a change.

“When you have a break, it's good for you but then you're always looking to get back into it. You can see in training that we've missed playing football and we're looking forward to Saturday.”

The midfielder knows that Brentford were below par against Fulham and has eyes only on three points at Ewood Park.

He said: “We were pretty poor against Fulham. What we did against QPR weren't existent against Fulham and we were disappointed.

“The break came at a good time as we've been able to recharge our batteries and can get back to winning ways at Blackburn.”
