Former Crystal Palace striker Clinton Morrison has backed Brentford starlet Ollie Watkins to play in the Premier League and represent England one day.

The youngster joined the Bees from Exeter city this summer, and former Exeter man Morrison told Football on 5 that the future is bright for the midfielder.

He said: ""He's an excellent player, I love him. I think he's got the ability to go as far as he can go.

"He's can go and play in the Premier League and I think Brentford have got a coup by signing him for only nearly £2 million. The finish in the EFL Cup game was class and he can do that every day.

"He'll have a great season for Brentford this season. I think you have to give special credit to Paul Tisdale and the people at Exeter City who've seen him come through the youth set up there and he's been brilliant.

"He can take it onto a different level and he can go higher and even higher – I'd even say international, he's that good."
