Brentford boss Mark Warburton has backed Stuart Dallas to break back into the Northern Ireland squad after an impressive start to the season.

The 23-year-old made his debut for his country back in 2011 while playing part-time football with Crusaders, but hasn't featured since.

However, after forcing his way into Brentford's first-team fold towards the end of last campaign and two goals in three game so far this season, Warburton believes the winger deserves a recall.

He said: "I think there's loads more to come from Stuart Dallas. He's now got the belief that he's good enough because he's come from training once a week in Northern Ireland to the Championship, which is a massive ask.

Catching the eye: Alan Judge impressed in front of Martin O'Neill last season

"Many players who take that journey don't make the transition very well, but it's a testament to Stuart that he's been outstanding and believes he belongs at this level. He's getting better and better."

Alan Judge impressed in front of Republic of Ireland boss Martin O'Neill against Notts County in April, and Warburton feels the former Blackburn Rovers midfielder is also worthy of international recognition.

He added: "For me if they get a call up they are doing something right. Quite why they haven't been called up I don't know."
