Josh Clarke admitted Brentford's dressing room discussion was 'honest and heated' in the wake of their 5-0 loss at Norwich.

The Bees were second best from first minute to last as they were made to look awful against a Norwich side who were heading into the game after five straight defeats.

And the squad had a frank discussion of what is going wrong for the club in recent weeks.

“I can't say much as it's for us to improve and it was behind closed doors. We need to keep the team spirit up. We're trying to put things right and get better,” Clarke said.

“It was honest and heated. It was just a discussion of what's going on and what we're doing wrong at the moment.

“We were performing well six weeks ago and it's just gone downhill. We're picking up points of what we're doing wrong and right as well.”

Clarke also apologised to the supporters for Brentford's 'pretty awful' display and knows this must be put right on Monday when they return to training at Jersey Road.

He added: “I'm sorry that we didn't perform. It's tough. We were annoyed we didn't get the result and the fans travel long distances and we were pretty awful. We need to put it right from Monday and put it right.”

He explained further: “We've got to watch our clips and go from there. We've got to speak as individuals as a team and put it right. We start again Monday.”
