Brentford will look to extend the stay of Everton striker Chris Long before Saturday's home game against Championship leaders Bournemouth.

The England U20 international joined the Bees on a one-month loan last month from the Goodison Park side which expires tomorrow.

Although has managed just two appearances and no goals in his short stay at Griffin Park, Bees boss Mark Warburton is keen to keep him longer.

He said: “We will be speaking to Everton to see if we can get something sorted.”

Warburton did warn, however, that he will not be going out and getting more players in during the loans window for the sake of it.

He added: “Maybe we'll get one or two more, but the risk is just having more irate players not getting into the side.

“We have injured players coming back, and when you add them to the squad we had last week, you have players not even getting into the match day squad who would have been the first names on the team sheet two or three years ago.”
