Brentford striker Farid El Alagui will speak to manager Mark Warburton in January to thrash out his future.

The former Falkirk frontman has started just once in the league this season, but has managed six goals in 18 games overall.

El Alagui was linked with a loan move with Partick Thistle, although the deal looks dead in the water after the SPL side swooped for Lyle Taylor instead.

However, the Moroccan marksman’s future could hinge on whether the Bees can extend the loan of Fulham’s Marcello Trotta.

“It’s hard to get a game because the team is doing well at the moment,” admitted El Alagui. “When the manager asks me to play I’ll try and do my best.

“He said it’s a busy period so we won’t make any decisions at the moment. We’ll assess it again in January.

“I want to play and get more minutes under my belt. If the manager wants anything else he will let me know.

“I’m not worried - all I’m thinking about is trying to get back in the team. If I stay at Brentford I’ll be happy.”
