Scott Hogan stepped up his return from injury with a goal as he came through 60 minutes in Brentford's development squad fixture with Crystal Palace.
The Bees striker suffered an anterior cruciate injury against Rotherham in August 2014 before suffering the same injury in training in March last year.
After 547 days since his last appearance for the club, and 311 since his second devastating injury, Hogan ran out against the Eagles for the development squad and he could have had a goal inside the first 60 seconds but his close range effort from Josh Clarke's cross was straight at Chris Kettings.
However, he had his goal inside seven minutes as he tucked home after great work from Reece Cole.
Palace, though, hit back with goals from Randall Williams and Hiram Boateng to claim a 2-1 lead at half-time.
Hogan was withdrawn on the hour mark and both he and the club will be pleased for his first run-out in a game situation.
However, they will both know that there is still much to do in order to get up to speed for the rigours of the Championship.
There were impressive cameos from Jan Holldack and Josh Clarke with Andy Gogia also showing favourable signs.
Gogia was on the scoresheet after 65 minutes as he rifled home from six yards to make the final score 2-2.
