Brentford striker Scott Hogan has been ruled out of the first game of the season against Charlton Athletic.
The summer signing from Rochdale is nursing an ankle knock and boss Mark Warburton admits he will not be ready for the big Championship kick-off on August 9.
“He got a kick and just rolled his ankle. He’s gone with our medical team to get some treatment,” said Warburton.
“We’re looking for Scott to be a couple of weeks to come back into it. We could strap him up but that’s not what we’re about.
“It’s about making sure he’s in good health to make an impact. We need to get him right.”
