Ryan Woods knows he must perform in every game as he knows Brentford have players in the B team capable of stepping in.

A host of young Bees featured in the west London club's 5-1 win at Aldershot with Reece Cole scoring twice.

Theo Archibald, Justin Shaibu, Zain Westbrooke, Bradley Clayton, Emmanuel Onariase and Chris Mepham, who was playing out of position in midfield, all didn't look out of place around the first team.

And Woods believes the young talent is a brilliant thing for the club and can push those currently in the first team to greater heights.

Reece Cole celebrates his fine goal

“It's brilliant for the club. They're very good players and they're around us all the time. They're learning a lot and so are we.

“A lot of us are only 22, 23 so we're still young ourselves. The more the competition the better. It's good for us and we look forward to it.”

“A few of the lads join us most days in training. It's good for us and only get them better.”
