Lasse Vibe heaped praise on Ryan Woods after his fine goal against Leeds sealed a 3-1 win for Brentford.

The midfielder, whose performance led to Andrea Pirlo now being known the Italian Ryan Woods, produced a sublime finish with virtually the last kick of the game from the edge of the area.

And the quality and calmness of the strike particularly impressed the Dane, who has reached double figures in each of his last two seasons at Griffin Park.

He said: “I don't know what that was. It was side-footed from outside the box – I've never seen anyone do it.

“That was a great goal. I was happy for him. He doesn't score too often or find himself in those positions. He's a big team player so we're very pleased to see him goal.

“We all made jokes when he tries it in training so we're all buzzing off that.”

Vibe felt that Brentford could have killed the game off earlier and, while he didn't score, the Dane played a major part in dragging Leeds defenders away and allowing Barbet and Woods to score.

“I think we probably should have closed that game in the first half. We played really well the boys did some great stuff and the penalty would have killed the game,” he added.

“I'm trying to do my thing. At the time, it felt it could have gone either way. We weren't too sure we'd have won it.

“We were too deep for what we'd have liked. I tried to do something positive and my team has done something well to win us the game.”
