Yoann Barbet knows Brentford will have to do the basics well in order to claim three points against Burton Albion on Tuesday night.
The Brewers are expected to be compact and try and frustrate the Bees before picking them off at set-pieces or on the counter attack, something that Dean Smith's side have previously struggled to cope with this season.
And Barbet knows his side must take their chances and keep things tight at the back in order to win.
“Everybody will expect us to win. It will be a tough game. It's the Championship and everyone can beat everyone in one game. We have to do the basics properly, take our chances and defend well,” he said.
“We know we have to be patient as they're likely to be compact. It's at home and under the lights and we'll have our fans.
“They were amazing at Cardiff. We had a lot of fans today so well done to those that travelled and I know they'll be there on Tuesday and help us to try and win the game.”
Barbet wants to repay the supporters that made the trip to Wales and were still singing at the final whistle and hopes to repay them on Tuesday.
He added: “We lost 2-0 and we weren't good in the first half and not good enough to come back.
“When you see the fans singing after the final whistle it was unbelievable. We'll work hard on Tuesday to give them back what they did at Cardiff.”
