Mark Warburton says Brentford have a score to settle against Middlesbrough on Saturday.

The Bees were thrashed 4-0 at the Riverside Stadium in September - their heaviest defeat of the season so far.

Warburton has used the reverse as a motivational tool in the dressing room and is adamant lightning won't strike twice at Griffin Park.

“It’s a big game – you never wanted to be beaten twice by a team in a season," said the Brentford boss.

"We got tonked 4-0, there’s no hiding that. It could easily have been six or seven. We were sloppy in possession and made poor decisions.

"The staff and players fell below the standards that day but we’ve used that as an example. It’s the one bad half of football we’ve had."

Middlesbrough dumped Premier League champions out of the FA Cup last weekend and Warburton is expecting a tough test in front of the Sky cameras.

He added: “They are an excellent team packed with quality players. They are well organised and have conceded the least amount of goals in the division.

"Defensively they are strong and they are well managed. We know the threat they pose."
