Brentford cut their losses by 48 per cent in the 2015/16 season, in relation to the 2014/15 campaign but still lost £7.6million pre tax.

Player sales accounted for a large part of the reduction in loss but the Bees maintained wage structure in this time, even increasing the amount of staff in the football department.

The Bees' accounts show a loss on ordinary activities before interest and other income of £7,636,553, with a loss after tax of £12,612,750.

Crucially, this shows a reduced loss from £14,770,999 (£17,667,667 after tax). This represents a decrease in loss of 48 per cent.

This has been financed by Benham purchasing ordinary shares and the provision of a series of loans to fund working capital, the academy and the new stadium development.

Turnover grew by seven per cent to £10,623,183, an increase from £9,954,979.

The Bees supremo invested over £13,727,999 into the club over the course of the last season and the overall total includes over £26.6m of secured loans specifically in relation to Brentford's Lionel Road project.
