Harlee Dean paid tribute to the 'brilliant' Brentford supporters who roared their team on during the 4-0 defeat to Chelsea.

The Bees sold out their allocation of 5,897 and there were also fans dotted around the home stands after failing to get a ticket in the Shed End.

While they didn't have much to cheer about on the pitch, the red and white army made their presence felt.

He said: “It's brilliant. All the players enjoy that and seeing it. It was very loud today and it made it a better day for us.”

Willian and Pedro scored two quick goals for the Premier League leaders and, although the Bees had half-chances in the second half, Branislav Ivanovic made the game safe before Michy Batshuayi made it four.

Dean added: “Their quality shone through. They took their chances, scored goals and deserved the win.

“We've got no shame in our performance. We started the second half well but never threatened them.

“If Lasse and Nico's half chances had gone in it'd have been a different game. I had a header early on that I headed too well. We had half chances but nothing too much to shout about.”
