Brentford have released four players following promotion to the Championship.

Striker Farid El Alagui and defender Shaleum Logan - who both ended the season on loan in the SPL - as well as defender Scott Barron and back-up keeper Liam O'Brien have all been shown the door with their contracts up next month.

El Alagui scored nine goals in 30 games during his two-year spell in west London following his switch from Falkirk.

The Moroccan marksman suffered a serious knee injury during his first season at Griffin Park, and despite three goals in as many games at the beginning of this campaign, he was allowed to see out the final five months back in Scotland with Dundee United.

On his way: Shaleum Logan won't be offered a new deal at Brentford

Logan made more than 100 appearances during his three-year stay in TW8.

The former Manchester City full-back fell out of favour midway through the season and joined Aberdeen for the remainder of the campaign, where he won the Scottish League Cup.

Barron struggled badly with injuries during his time at Brentford following a move across the capital from Millwall.

A persistent hip problem restricted the left-back to 22 games for the Bees, while O'Brien failed to make a first-team appearance after being signed as cover in August.
