There have been a number of candidates for the player of the season and any first team regular could be considered for the title.
Given that results in the early stages of the season were difficult for the west Londoners, it is a surprise to see so many players standing out for their impressive performances.
To get the ball rolling, Brentford reporter Tom Moore has named his top five, plus four honourable mentions.
Ollie Watkins
The former Exeter man has taken to Championship football like a duck to water. Watkins started the season as a substitute but soon established himself in the Brentford first team.
He is currently the club's leading goalscorer and is constantly striving for further improvement.
It was an easy decision to include him in my top five shortlist and the young forward can go a long way in his career.
Nico Yennaris
It's incredible to think that just over two years ago, the former Arsenal man was seemingly on his way out the exit door but is now one of the club's key players.
He still has some detractors who get on his back and fail to give him any credit for the work he does.
One of the best aspects of Yennaris' play is his attitude and his desire to extract all of his talent into every game.
Having waited patiently for his chance, the midfielder has grasped it with both hands and become a key player in the side.
Josh Clarke
The 'polyfilla' player, as described by Dean Smith, wasn't expected to be a regular starter in August with his positions seemingly filled by other players.
But departures and injuries have seen him take a place on either flank, be it in defence or on the wing.
Rico Henry's injury saw Clarke being deployed at left back and he kept former Bee Jota quiet when Brentford won at Birmingham last week.
Henrik Dalsgaard's injury saw him move back to right back and he displayed a natural confidence there as well.
Florian Jozefzoon
The Dutchman has started to come into his own in recent weeks with his goal against Sunderland sparking an excellent run of form.
He has five assists to his name and, while he would like to add more goals to his game, the winger has certainly been a creative outlet.
Sergi Canos' talents are well-known at the club but injury has allowed Jozefzoon to cement his place and it will take a big effort for the Spaniard to oust him at this time.
Ryan Woods
How often do you hear opposition fans sing the praises of Ryan Woods? It happens pretty much every game.
With the exception of the Leeds game, the Ginger Pirlo rarely grabs the headlines with a goal but it's his tireless work with or without the ball that continues to catch the eye.
Woods is a clear favourite at Griffin Park and it will not be a surprise if some bigger budget clubs came sniffing in January.
Other contenders
Honourable mentions go to Neal Maupay, Romaine Sawyers, John Egan and Yoann Barbet. Maupay has bagged six goals this season and his work-rate has impressed many Bees fans.
Sawyers has silenced the majority of his critics and is a much-improved player compared to this time last year.
Egan is, to an extent, an unsung hero as has led the side well after being handed the captain's armband.
Barbet has become a force in defence and his free kicks cause plenty of problems.
