Brentford striker Neal Maupay has told Bees fans that he is the sort of player that will leave everything on the pitch.

The Frenchman joined the club from Saint-Etienne earlier this summer, with the Bees beating Premier League Brighton to his signature.

And the 20-year-old has already impressed with his attitude on the pitch, scoring in the 3-2 win over MK Dons last Tuesday and having a goal disallowed against Celta Vigo on Saturday.

“I am someone who leaves it all out on the pitch,” he told the club's official website. “I will fight for my teammates, and for the team, from the first to the last minute.

“Whether we are on the attack or defending I know that I have to work. It is important to give for the team especially when you are new at a club.

“It is my style of play and it is important for me to show what I am about.”

Maupay is also getting accustomed to life at Brentford as well as in England, with the move to west London the first time the Frenchman has played outside his country.

“Everyone has been really welcoming: be they staff or teammates,” he added. “I am really happy with how the first two weeks have gone. There are some differences with a new culture, another way of looking at football, and a new style of training so things are not the same but I feel good and am adapting well.

“It feels good to be here. It’s a city I don’t really know but one that I want to discover.

“Lots of people that I have spoken to have who have been here say that it is a beautiful city and I am looking forward to seeing why they say that.”
