Brentford new boy Luke Daniels can't see any reason why the club can't finish in the top ten of the Championship table next season.

The goalkeeper, who is set to compete fiercely for a starting position with Dan Bentley, is enjoying the start to life with the Bees.

And he has a good feeling about what Dean Smith's men can achieve next season.

"There's only one aim and that's to compete at the top end of the table," said Daniels.

"We want to better what we've done so far in establishing ourselves as a top half team.

"You have to look at the setup. It's down to the players to go out and use what's been given to us to get off to a good start."

Daniels has only been with the club for a few weeks and, like the majority of players, is feeling the heat at the start of pre-season.

But he's happy it isn't all just continuous running and that he's been able to do ballwork, too.

"I've settled in really well. You get straight into it. It's been really enjoyable and it's great to be here," added the shot-stopper.

"It's a lot more scientific than it used to be. There's a lot of specific work.

"No matter how much you do in the off season it's still a shock to the system and you get heavy legs.

"The balls are out straightaway so it's good really."
