Alan McCormack lauded Brentford's performance against Leeds as 'absolutely brilliant' and felt the Yorkshire side couldn't live with the west Londoners.

Dean Smith's side outclassed the promotion chasers to claim a fully deserved 2-0 win thanks to goals from Romaine Sawyers and Lasse Vibe.

And McCormack paid tribute to the intelligence and speed of Brentford's play.

He said: “I thought we were absolutely brilliant against Leeds. I felt we continued Saturday's performance and that's always tough doing Saturday-Tuesday.

“Our pace of play, the speed we've got going forward with the ball. I think the Leeds players are fantastic and they couldn't handle us, how we moved the ball so quickly, so intelligent and we were great in wide areas.

“We deserved the win. We've got a young bunch of lads in there and a lot of talent.”

Brentford go for four wins on the bounce and three victories in a week when they travel to Cardiff on Saturday.
