Lewis Macleod is available for Brentford's meeting with Sheffield Wednesday, despite suggestions he is struggling with a knee injury.

The midfielder, who has been called up to the Scotland U21 squad, has had an injury-hit time at Griffin Park but he has been training with the squad ahead of the clash with the Owls.

Yoann Barbet and Jack Bonham, though, will miss out as will long-term absentee Alan Judge.

Brentford head coach Dean Smith said: “Lewis has been training with us but Yoann hasn't been. He's likely to start training after Sheffield Wednesday.

“Andreas (Bjelland) has been very bright and put himself into contention. Other than that, we've got Judgey who is still out and Jack with his back. They're the only ones at the moment.”

Macleod will be boosted by his Scotland call and Smith has been really pleased with his attitude.

He added: “It'll be a great boost for him. He's had some dark days being out injured for a long time.

“He could have felt homesick moving south of the border. He's got his head down and got on with it. He's been consistent as well which is really pleasing.”
